Jay Korner’s ‘Will You Save Me’ is a soul-flavored love song inspired by the 70’s
“Will You Save Me” is a funk and soul-flavored love song with an infectious riff theme, inspired by 70’s artists The Meters and Buddy Miles. The song is all about finding the right one, that very special person to spend the rest of your life with. It’s an upbeat jam with rhythmic guitars, Hammond organ and clavinett, groovy drums and bass, and bright horn sections.
This time I also have female background vocals (gospel style) and some really good guitar solos from Alex. I wanted to make this single a bit heavier than the last single, with a distinctive guitar riff as a theme and a mix of funk, rock, and soul. Someone wrote in a review that this single sounds like Motown soul meets Memphis Horns and New York City Funk. I really liked that 🙂
