Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Alexander 23 is back with another insanely catchy single, “Crash.” The anthemic breakup single with jangly guitars and relatable lyrics acts as an unfiltered parting shot at an ex. Between his producer credits, electric live performances, growing body of solo work, Alexander seems more in touch with him inner Alex than ever before.

According to the artist, “‘Crash’ is about missing someone you were in a relationship with, but not missing who you both became within that relationship.” The single opens with arpeggiated guitar and whisper-sung vocals before slowly blooming into a passionate pop-rock track. “I miss you / But I don’t miss us,” Alexander sings in the sharp chorus. “Cause apart we’re great / But together we suck.” His newfound resolve is driven home by fierce drums, which highlight the defiance at the song’s heart.
