Korner uses influences like Buddy Miles, Orgone, and Aaron Frazer to bring his funk fantasy to life. It sounds like something you’d hear in ‘70’s, but it also translates to today’s modern music, especially with the lyrics.

If there was any time to hear a song that makes you want to dance and inspires you to be your best self, this is it. We’ve obviously all had it rough this past year and a half, but we’re just now seeing that there is a light at the end of the tunnel coming soon. So, what better way to celebrate than to blast “We’re Back Again” and sing lyrics like “Got to move, got to groove, got to prove/ Just do your thang/ Do it good, do it well, do it right/ We’re back again.” Well, we are- as a nation coming out of something so horrible- indeed back again.

Korner also makes it personal by addressing an anonymous boy and girl in the first and second verses and tells them to keep pushing through no matter who or what stands in their way. Even though the boy and girl are never named, it’s still personal because a boy or girl listening to this song could relate to what Korner is trying to tell them.

Korner then ties it all together in the third verse when he sings, “Hey you people/ Together we’re strong/ Tell your friends/ To come along.” He unites the listeners with simple phrases and lyrics like that because it’s true, we are all stronger together. If we’ve learned anything at all this past year and a half, it’s that if we keep following the destinies that feel right to us, no one or anything can stand in our way. Korner expresses exactly that, making it the perfect post-pandemic song.
